Africa Imperialism - Britian tried to help Africa most of the times but they just do it for their benefits. The British were some of the most anti-slavery protestants the world had to offer and felt morally obliged to stop the Swahili slave trade. Many of the Africans thought that with the Europeans coming they would be able to learn or be taught how they became that powerful. Some leaders were not going to let the Eurpeans invade Africa.

Through the Eyes of Africans: Many of the people in Africa thought that they would be taught and helped by the europeans that came. They said they hope they were confident and powerful like them. The king of Mossi in West Africa told a French leader, "I know the whites wish to kill me in order to take my country, and yet you claim that they will help me in order to organize my country. But I find my country good just as it is. I have no need of them. I know what is necessary for me and what I want: I have my own merchants: also, consider yourself fortunate that I do not order you head to be cut off. Go away now, and above all, never come back."
